A new month has arrived! Not only is spring on the way and all its joys, but it's also Women's History Month. We're kicking it off with some wisdom and empowerment from Maya Angelou.
The Bloomies stand up for themselves every day, leading the way for future women survivors to find hope and healing in our recovery home.
"Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women." ...
"We light this candle for the sick and suffering addict inside and outside these walls, a baby born into addiction without a choice or voice, the addict taking their first hit that might be their last, and for our fallen sisters - may they find their way home."
Our Bloomies open each community meeting with this meditation from Thistle Farms. β€οΈοΈ Our journeys of healing are for ourselves, but not by ourselves. We follow a cloud of witnesses who have come before us to show us the way to recovery and healing, and some day will we join them in guiding other women looking for their way home. π ...

Our sincerest gratitude goes out to Jason Foster, publisher of Best Version Media, for including BLOOMHERE in the latest print magazines being shared with our neighbors around town!
In Amberly Neighbors and North Cary Neighbors:
The story of BLOOMHERE began on an airplane in 2017, one of hundreds that international cosmetics executive Melinda Taylor would buckle into that year to travel around the country for work.
She had been resisting a call to change the world by first changing herself.
βThe fear of the unknown was overwhelming β was I willing to take the risk of becoming who I was made to be? And who was I to offer healing for anyone? I had plenty of my own scars I had gladly covered up over the years,β she said.
But the calling persisted. Just a few months after leaving her corporate job to respond to her calling to serve women survivors of abuse and addiction, she launched the BLOOMHERE business plan.

A Letter From Deanna
When I came to BLOOMHERE, I had relapsed, and I was grieving the deaths of multiple family members. I had nothing to lose, but everything to gain. BLOOMHERE poured faith, hope, and love into me. With a lot of prayers, I have started learning to love myself again. Today I have 16 months clean and I am one of the top students in my GED class. Working on healthy relationships is a daily struggle, but I never give up, because I remember that when prayers go up, blessings come down. Sometimes God takes you back to where you've been, so you know where you need to go.οΈ ...
